Supply situation for plastics remains strained

Plastics prices have risen by approx. +70%

Plastics prices have risen sharply since the beginning of the year by approx. +70% compared to the previous year. We have already informed you about this in a previous blog. Transport and logistics costs have also risen significantly in the same period. Both resulted in significant price increases for agricultural plastic packaging. Stretch films, round bale nets, silage films and silage bags have increased by the same percentage or more over the same period.

Outlook:

A significant reduction in prices is not in sight in the short term as long as there are not enough raw materials available in Europe. We do not expect price reductions until the end of the year. However, how high they will be is still in the stars. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and get back to you as soon as we get the latest information.
