Storage of organic grains in Budissa BAG plastic bags
Cheap and flexible alternative to building silo systems
Many organic farmers are faced with the question, how and where to store their organic grains. Local grain storehouses are not in all countries/regions prepared to receive organic grains.
Moreover organic farmers often grow several cultures with different crop yield and harvest period. This requires a seperate storage in different silos.
Building silos is surely one possibility to store the own organic grains. On the other hand this option is surely the most expensive one. Quickly can be reached investment amounts of 250 €/to and more. For many organic farms, this is not financially feasible.
Storage of organic grains in plastic bags with the Budissa Grain Bagger offers a cheap and flexible alternative:
- Gentle storage in the grain bag by auger
- the residual oxygen between is quickly breathed out
- output of up to 300 tons per hour
- astandard grain bag with a length of 75m contains approx. 250 tons of grain
- food-safe certification of the grain bags
- after a storage period of up to 24 months, the organic grain can be unloaded from the bag (Budissa Unloader)
- varieties and different qualities can be stored separately and economically
- The process is suitable for all kind crops, such as: all types of grain, grain maize, rapeseed, sunflower, legumes such as soya, peas, beans, lupins, lentils and much more
In addition to dry grain, moist grain maize can also be stored in grain bags without any preservatives. Especially the wet corn industry in Europe (bioethanol, starch and alcohol producers) has been using this technology for many years to save unnecessary drying costs. In the current price situation for fossil fuels, this topic is likely to move further into focus.
