Outlook for the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2022
Plastics prices 1. quarter 2022:
A price relaxation is still not in sight. At the end of December, raw material manufacturers issued “Force Majeur” declarations that keep the prices of plastics rising. Some types of raw materials, such as EVOH or Metallocene, are either unavailable or very difficult to obtain in Europe, and this development is accompanied by price increases for silo films, silo bags and silage stretch films.
Outlook 2. and 3. quarter 2022:
A definite outlook cannot yet be given, especially as other geopolitical crises could also have a significant influence on price developments. It is not yet possible to say when this price increase trend might be reversed. So it remains very exciting.
Conclusion:
But one thing seems certain from today’s evidence: prices will remain at a very high level, at least as long as the pandemic has a significant impact on all major industrial sectors.
We recommend that you place your orders promptly so that you are sure to receive goods for the 2022 season. At the moment we see no room for price speculation.
